the amethyst brow

Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing technique that creates hair like strokes to fill in sparse or thinning brows. The practice aims to give you an effortless full brow and can also be done to fully construct missing brows. Over time, the strokes can blur and fade and will need to be refreshed. Cosmetic tattooing is unlike body art tattooing because it is much more superficial. The pigments are more degradable and your own immune system will digest the ink and push the pigments out as well. When done properly, the procedure can last one to three years depending on your skin type (dry, normal or oily).

Microblading is performed by placing pigment in the dermis of the skin using a hand held tool with attached needles. Microblading is not like a tattoo. A tattoo uses a different type of ink and a larger quantity is deposited in the dermis at one time. Microblading is not recommended for oily skin or sensitive skin.

Unfortunately, not everyone is a good candidate for hair-strokes. If you answer yes to any of the following below your hair-strokes will either blend or disappear so don't run the risk of damaging your skin, wasting your money and time. The Ombre style is best for you!

  Oily skin

  •   Large pores

  •   Autoimmune disease

  •   Frequent sweating due to extensive working out, menopause, etc

  •   Thyroid conditions

Ombre’ (Microshading w/machine)

Ombre’ brows apply the same method as Microblading (placing pigment in the dermis) but a different tool is used. A permanent makeup rotary machine similar to a tattoo gun is use to give brows a soft, misty, powder filled brow similar to the look of makeup. The tails of the brow are darker, and fade into a light start to the brow, giving it a very subtle look. Over time, pigment fades leaving the skin and your natural brows behind - lighter at the bulb (front) of the brow and going darker towards the tail. This technique is the most popular because is best for any skin type/condition and it lasts longer in oily skin.

Combination brows are ombre’ brows with Microblading added to the very front of the brow. This technique gives the shaded brow that extra 3D effect and great for individuals with thin/fine brows.

Blade & Shade

The blade & shade technique is a fully microbladed brow from bulb to tail with a misty shade placed throughout the brow to give the Microblading depth. This is great for Microblading candidates that want a little more density in their brows.
